PC-Turnoff Week is June 26 - July 2 this year, so mark your calendars now!
Once per year, PC-Turnoff Organization encourages families to turn off their family computer for a week in the summer. Instead of using the computer, use the time for healthy activities such as reading, exercise, play, or family time.
Chances are, your childhood involved more outdoor play than your children
experience. Chances are, you used more of your imagination and creativity.
You most certainly spent a lot less time in front of television, video
games, computers and other forms of entertainment.
PC-Turnoff is an international effort to raise awareness of the negative side-affects on our children of excessive computer use, which contributes to weight problems, social isolation, cyber bullying, attention problems, and can shape children's learning and problem solving behaviors in ways that impede their education.
This summer, join thousands participating in PC-Turnoff Week. Turn off
the family computer for one week, from June 26 to July 2, and encourage
your children to play more outside, read or get involved in some other
healthy activity.
